Drumming for the
Earth While journeying
recently, I was being guided by the
Hopi Elder, White Feather. The
journey was ela borate,
beginning in the Andean mountains. I was shown a
Mapuche shamaness
(Machi) beating on her drum,
 which was shaped like a
narrow bowl, wide on the top like the one shown on this page, but quite
deep and very narrow at the bottom. She was calling to her people and
calling to the condor.
The people came and watched as the condor picked
up the Machi and me, and we flew into the sky looping around in a great
, vertical figure '8'. We did this several times and I realized that we
were forming the symbol of 'infinity' in the sky, growing larger with
each circuit until we were linking
the Earth with the Moon so that the Earth was in one of
the ovals of the 'infinity' symbol and the moon was in the other. The condor
gradually decreased the size of its flight path until we were again
carving a
tall, vertical 'infinity' symbol in the sky, but this time we were over the
Grand Canyon. Eagles were turning around us crying excitedly.
Soon we
descended to the ground amidst a group of people of many different
nationalities, seated in a circle. In the centre of the circle was a man,
wearing a costume covered in white feathers,
beating a drum like that of the Machi. She walked toward him holding her
drum in front of her. He raised his drum into the air so
that the narrow end of his drum met hers.
There was a blinding light and the two drums fused together, forming a
single drum with two heads. It was shaped like a large egg-timer, floating in the air
between the two people. It also had the form of the 'infinity' symbol. The man and the
Machi beat a rhythm at opposite ends.
The condor lifted me once again
into the sky and the circle of drummers transformed into a long line, each
person beating a drum. We flew along the line of people that now seemed
to stretch forever, until we had circled the entire globe. The pounding rhythm became
more and more intense, its vibrations reverberating through the Earth. I was told that the strength of such
a combined and unified drum beat would cut a chasm through the Dark
energies which are filling our world and our universe, allowing the Light
to come into the divide like never before. This would open a portal to a new world,
a new life: spiritual and filled with Light, totally separated from the
Dark. In the words of my guide, White Feather, this was to be the
opening to the Fifth World.
I propose that we each begin a Drumming
Circle with the intent to invite in the Light and to exclude the Dark,
so that eventually we can form a worldwide circle. One day, we can decide, mutually, to drum at the same time,
Drumming for the Earth. The result
will be our certain destiny...
